VALLEY OF DESOLATION

For a complete change of scenery, there's nothing like a trip to the heart of the Valley of Desolation. Here, the landscape becomes lunar, and as you descend, the vegetation disappears, leaving the steep red earth slopes of Morne Watt bare. On the way to Boiling Lake, the place stands in stark contrast to the surrounding tropical vegetation... From here, warm rivers flow through rapids and waterfalls, the water taking on a multitude of colors. It's possible to swim in some of the river basins, in water at an ideal temperature.
