This 6,800-hectare park, consisting mainly of tropical forest and endemic flora, contains some of Dominica's most beautiful sites: Emerald Pool, Boeri Lake, Fresh Water Lake and Boiling Lake. It owes its name to a mountain made up of three rocky peaks, the highest reaching 1,356 metres in altitude. It is not the highest peak on the island, but the title goes to the dreary Diablotins, 1,447 metres, located further northwest in the heart of the Northern Forest Reserve. Dominica's largest national park, it is remarkable for the variety of sites to be discovered there and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
