MIHINTALE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

This museum, which does not exceed 150 square meters, is established in a small pavilion. It was completely renovated in 2012. Several rooms are dedicated to the discoveries made on the site during the excavations. Bronze statuettes, ancient tools, fragments of frescoes and paintings are displayed. The most important pieces are an ancient 9th century manuscript written on a palm leaf gilded with fine gold, and a replica of a stupa relic chamber.
