The archaeological museum is located in the old building at the far end of the property. The premises, which have recently been renovated, contain only a few antiquities, including a curious collection of studded shoes. Apart from the whale skeleton on display outside, the museum's most precious objects are a few coins found at the Kathiramalai (Kantharodai) archaeological site, an 11th-century bust of Buddha and a sedan chair.
