The Hvitträsk estate, built between 1901 and 1903, is an essential site for understanding Finnish Art Nouveau.
Three houses built between 1901 and 1903 by three undisputed masters of the genre, form the Hvitträsk estate, an essential place to understand the spirit of national romanticism, Art Nouveau to Finnish. It is the house of the Saarinen, both a place to live and a workshop, that can be visited today. In the footsteps of Jean Sibelius, Axel Gallen-Kallela and Maxime Gorki, recurring visitors at the time, we discover this fairytale house in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. Near the lake is the tomb of the owners of the place.
