The lagoon, about ten kilometres long, starts a stone's throw from the beach of Pie de la Cuesta and is one of the most interesting places to observe a sunset. A whole range of tones and colours in harmony around a tropical flora and an ornithological refuge. The calm waters allow you to practice many water sports. A long beach separates the lagoon from the ocean, from Pie de la Cuesta to Barra de Coyuca, fifteen kilometres away. A stroll up the estuary of the Coyuca river, starting from the village of the same name, is very refreshing: you can swim in fresh water, away from the crowd.
