Roaring Fork Area features mountain streams, old-growth forest remnants and log cabins.
A favorite hiking area for many Smokies regulars. You'll see mountain streams, remnants of old-growth forests, well-preserved log cabins, mills and other historic buildings. To access the site, leave the park's main road at Gatlinburg and follow the Historic Nature Trail. The road back to Gatlinburg is one-way from the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail trailhead.
Noah "Bud" OgleSite. This mountain farm in the heart of the Roaring Fork Area has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. The facilities date from the late 19th century and were owned by a farmer of the same name (Noah "Bud" Ogle). A steam mill and a wooden barley-brewing mechanism are on display.
