GRACELAND
The home Elvis purchased at age 22, located about ten minutes from downtown Memphis
Located ten minutes from downtown Memphis, Graceland is the home Elvis acquired at the age of 22, at the height of his fame. He stayed there until his death, along with his parents and grandmother, all of whom are buried in the adjoining Meditation Garden. It's a place revered by the King's fans: the stream of visitors never dries up, and is particularly impressive at the time of the celebration of his death on August 16. With the Platinum Tour, you'll have access to the King's house, entirely decorated by him (in a more or less happy manner); his car collection (impressive); his two jets and his collection of stage costumes (quite a program), plus temporary exhibitions. A French-language audio guide to The Mansion is included in the ticket price. Don't be put off when you arrive at the site: it stretches out on either side of the immense Elvis Presley Boulevard, in an uninterrupted stream of traffic. A shuttle bus takes you to The Mansion on the other side of the site, where you'll find the ticket office and related exhibits. If you want to discover the world of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, this is a must-see when visiting Memphis. And why not extend the experience and sleep on site.
Since 2017, a visit to Graceland has included access to Elvis Presley's Memphis, a vast immersive complex covering more than 18,000 m², located directly opposite the King's home. Initially known as the Past, Present & Future project, this site was conceived as an extension to the Graceland visit, to offer a more complete immersion into the world of Elvis Presley. The site includes an automobile museum, a performance hall, interactive and immersive exhibits, a multimedia archive and several restaurants and boutiques.
