Museum located in Mortagne-au-Perche, presenting the history of the philosopher Alain, and housing books, magazines, and photos.

The Musée Alain has moved from its quarters at the Maison des Comtes du Perche to the Hôtel de Puisaye, a beautiful turreted building dating from the late 18th century. A native of the region, the philosopher Alain - whose real name was Émile-Auguste Chartier - was born in Mortagne-au-Perche in 1868. Discover his study at Le Vésinet (Yvelines), reconstructed with the Alain collection of books, magazines, photos, and paintings. Alain depicted the Perche region, and the capital of the Perche ornais in particular, in a collection of texts entitled Portraits de famille.
