While the Hôtel de Ville, built in the 18th century, is now closed to visitors, the public garden is open to the public and offers a breathtaking view over the green valleys of the region. Its parterre à la française, organized around a circular pool, features a bronze equestrian statue by Emmanuel Frémiet, a 19th-century French animal sculptor, and a bust by Jules Chaplain, a sculptor and engraver of coins and medals born in Mortagne in 1839.
