Rock Eagle Effigy Mound is an archaeological site about fifteen minutes north of Eatonton that was allegedly built around 1000 AD by local native tribes. It is a unique eagle-shaped rock formation more than 30 metres long. The site is registered in the National Register of Historic Sites (NRHP) and is administered by the University of Georgia.
