The Black American West Museum is dedicated to the role of the Black community in the history and evolution of Colorado. A reality completely swept through the images of Hollywood westerns, representing almost always a White West.
Minors, soldiers, settlers, teachers, breeders, blacksmiths, cowboys, lawyers… are as many black characters as you discover through photographs, projections, testimonies and interactive exhibitions. This is happening in the emblematic place of the first black woman in Colorado.
