Labyrinth of mangrove islands and waterways stretching southwest of Everglades City, boat rides offered
The Ten Thousand Islands are a labyrinth of mangrove islands and waterways that stretch southwest of Everglades City. Manatees, dolphins and fish eagles live together in this saltwater part of the Everglades. No doubt you will be enchanted by the abundance of wildlife. It can be easy to get lost in these islands, so we recommend the 1.5 hour boat tours that leave from the Gulf Coast Visitor Center. The guides are naturalists who will explain the particularities of this ecosystem.
