COPPER FALLS STATE PARK
Bayfield Nature Park with a river and a lake, Loon Lake, south of Ashland, with 27 km of hiking trails.
20 minutes south of Ashland, near the town of Mellen, a nature park with a river running through it (the Bad River) and a lake, Loon Lake. Here you can fish, canoe, kayak and motorboat. It also contains a small canyon and several waterfalls. The park is home to twenty-seven kilometers of hiking trails: ideal for an afternoon's walk or relaxation. The park takes its name from the discovery of copper, first by Amerindians, then much later by European settlers.
