Following the course of the Río Deva with its fishy waters, the N-621 advances slowly through a gorge that narrows as it approaches Panes. The road then goes through high limestone walls alternating with pastures. The Hermida Gorge is 20 km long and is the only communication route between Liebana and the coast. The village of La Hermida, which gives it its name, is halfway between Panes and Potes. Back on the N-621, we continue in the direction of the Piedrasluengo pass. Shortly before arriving at Cabezón de Liebana, a small road leads up to the Picos de Europa Park visitor center.
