Pier Saint-Nicolas is a beautiful and idyllic beach of fine sand, a turquoise sea and several forts to visit. It is also the historic place where Christopher Columbus landed in 1492, landing his men for the first time on the ground of the New World. A place that is always very protected where boaters anchor safely. Its seabed still houses incredible corals, which are very diverse compared to the rest of the country. Buccaneer, buccaneers and colonial battles have marked local culture and landscape and today there are more than historic sites: the ruins of the Battery of Morne-à-Cabris and the Ruines battery, the ruins of Fort Vallière, Fort Charles, Powder and Anse France are all located in the vicinity of Pier Saint-Nicolas.
