AMBRAS CASTLE (SCHLOSS AMBRAS)
The castle houses living quarters with period furniture and the Habsburg Portrait Gallery.
Ambras Castle, one of Tyrol's most beautiful historic buildings, stands on a hill south of Innsbruck. It owes its current appearance to the 16th-century Archduke Ferdinand II. The upper castle houses living quarters with period furnishings and the Habsburg Portrait Gallery. The lower castle is home to the Hall of Arts and Wonders and the Spanish Hall, among the most beautiful free-standing Renaissance rooms. Bistro on site.
