Church housing the tomb of Emperor Maximilian , surrounded by 28 bronze statues of his ancestors.
The jewel of the city! The Imperial Church houses the tomb of Emperor Maximilian I, surrounded by 28 bronze statues of his ancestors. Cast between 1509 and 1550, they are larger than life and dressed in period armor and robes. One represents Charles the Bold, Maximilian I's father-in-law, another Clovis I, King of the Franks. To the right of the choir is a 500-year-old Renaissance organ, one of the five most famous in the world.
