BEACHES (PLAYAS EN EL PUERTO)

For the bath and sunshine, depending on the weather and the wind, the following two beaches of El Puerto de Santa María are most recommended: to the west of the city centre, the Playa de Santa Catalina, at the level of El Ancla, and the lower, the Playa de la Muralla, west of Puerto Sherry, it houses remnants of the wall built at the time of the fight against Napoleon's madness. Closer to the town and the estuary of the Río river, the Playa de la Puntilla is more recommended for its beach chiringuitos like the El Castillito family (founded in 1956) and its good grilled fish than for bathing!
