Pentedattilo, "five fingers" in Greek, in reference to the five rocky pinnacles that dominate this village of Byzantine origin. If you have a car, don't miss a visit to this real ghost town. Threatened by rockslides and landslides, it was evacuated in the mid 1960s. Perched 250 metres above sea level, the ruins have gained in character over the years and the strange atmosphere in the labyrinthine streets is becoming a tourist attraction on this part of the coast. So much so that, in season, shuttle buses leave regularly from Porto Salvo for the site and a few B&Bs have opened at the entrance to the village.
