Loma Plata is the administrative center of Colonia Menno, the first Mennonite colony in Paraguay, established in 1927. It is a city populated by Mennonite families, who speak little Spanish, with a strong German accent. An interesting museum presents the history of the colony. Next door, there is a tourist office (open from 7:00 to 11:30 am) run by Patrick Freizen ([email protected] - ✆ +595 981 200 535), who will be able to inform you about visiting the Trebol dairy factory and access to the Campo María and Laguna Capitán lagoons. In town, there are a handful of hotels and a few restaurants, including Chaco Grill, famous for its meat. Cash dispensers in the central avenue, between the Nasa terminal and the museum.
