The "city of the tropics"! The Tropic of Capricorn indeed crosses this small town. Belén is an old Jesuit reduction, founded in 1760 (eight years before the expulsion of the religious), on the banks of the Ypané river. It is the oldest town in the region, but its historical heritage is limited to a few colonial houses. There are a few pensions in town, but we advise you to stay in the El Roble farmhouse, in the middle of nature. Belén is located 21 km southeast of Concepción. You can get there by bus with the companies San Cristobal, La Beleanita or Puerto Ybapobo. They leave the market, not the terminal, between 11:00 and 12:30. By taxi, count around 120-150 000 Gs one way.
