Adjacent to the mission, State Historic Park hosts the last Spanish place in the United States and reminds visitors of the structure of the cities of the late th in California (with strong Spanish and Mexican influences). The park includes several buildings built in the 1800 s as well as four museums: Plaza Hotel (Host Center), Plaza Hall (municipal room), Plaza Stable (stables) and Castro Breen (General Castro House).
