LE JAPADEUNON
Funny name for this new colmarian wine bar absolutely brilliant and very classy. Originally, Japadeunon was... a fountain located in the Vaucluse! This one left a childhood memory that was sufficiently unforgettable for Christian Leroy (who also owns the Riquewihr Maturing Cellar) to choose to call his wine bar Le Japadeunon. He had the good idea to hand over the reins to the young sommelier Charlie Guth. It is a cosy place to be, dressed with large exposed beams and furnished with large "stammtisch" style high tables that encourage friendly exchanges over a good glass of wine accompanied by a delicious croque-monsieur (traditional), with goat cheese or Italian style) or generous boards made of cold cuts, cheese, salmon, raw vegetables, olives, pickles, fresh bread... Depending on the season, you can also enjoy oysters, an all-you-can-eat raclette, or pasta cooked and flambéed in a... cheese wheel. More original, there's no such thing! Add to that the "Vigneron" evenings, which are ideal for discovering atypical wines from Alsace and elsewhere. When it comes to good bottles, Le Japadeunon is not sectarian: its menu includes both local wines and French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese nectars. Tasting by the glass at a low price and a good-natured atmosphere, reservation recommended.
