LE GRILLEN

Pop rock and variety concert hall
5/5
1 review

Located near the campus and the Grillenbreit district, the Grillen is the contemporary music hall managed by the city of Colmar since 1998. Its capacity does not exceed 350 seats, the concerts remain intimate, far from the zeniths and the gigantic and impersonal halls. All musical styles are represented: pop, rock, punk, soul, metal, hardcore, garage, electro, experimental, rap, blues... Teachers from the conservatory also come to perform there and the hall is open to all associations wishing to organise alternative and festive evenings (notably Live!, After Dark, Hiéro Colmar, Hopla! Zone 51...) The Grillen also puts two rehearsal studios at the disposal of local bands who regularly have the opportunity to showcase their talent during opening acts. Be careful, don't arrive too late on concert evenings as the seats are free (and standing). To preserve your ears, Le Grillen provides earplugs and, in the interest of ecology, the bar's cups are consigned. Le Grillen also hosts very friendly improvisation match evenings and other events such as the jazz off festival. All you have to do is enjoy the concerts, massed in the crowd or in the adjoining bar!

The Comédie de l'Est has changed its name under the impetus of its new directors, Émilie Capliez and Matthieu Cruciani, who are keen to make its local roots more visible. It is now called the Comédie de Colmar. For the rest, the new Comédie de Colmar continues its mission of original creations and presentation of works from all over Europe: theater, opera, dance and shows for children. In a bid to make culture accessible to all, it regularly organizes workshops open to specific audiences.

ROTA CLUB

Club
1/5
1 review

Famous and therefore very popular, the Rota Club puts the emphasis on a Latin muy caliente atmosphere that is bound to be very lively! Its rum bar is designed like a Cuban village square: it is like a corner of sunshine in Colmar, with a good twenty references from excellent rum shops. In addition to its large, more generalist clubbing room with crazy lighting effects, the Rota Club also has a Chill Out room, without music but with pinball and billiards. A VIP area is reserved for a hand-picked clientele with a 100% exclusive bar!

L'ARTÉMISE

Coffee shop and tea room
1/5
1 review

We've fallen head over heels for this romantically old-fashioned tearoom, which looks like it's straight out of the English countryside! In a vintage atmosphere (floral wallpaper, Victorian porcelain, Sheffield teapots), you'll be delighted by Johann's delicious creations: real mont-blanc with chestnut cream, black forest revisited, scones with homemade jam and surette cream, Ernestine tart with almond cream and coconut.... A wide choice of beverages: teas, coffees and organic fruit juices... Sunday brunch by prior arrangement.

From Ireland to Alsace, there is only one step (of door) to cross: that of Murphy's! This Irish pub turns out to be truer than life and nestles right in front of the Koïfhus. Here, Guinness is flowing in a warm atmosphere. In fact, when it comes to lager, brown, white or amber beers, you have a wide choice. Whatever the season and whatever the sporting or cultural events, there is always something going on at Murphy's, especially on St. Patrick's Day . And, as soon as the first rays of sunshine hit the terrace, it fills up!

CHEZ MOI

Cocktail bar

The terrace of this cosy little lounge bar offers an excellent view of the Koifhus. The clientele is young and trendy, and largely made up of regulars. This bar is halfway between a Swiss chalet (with its wooden walls, Swiss flag and imitation animal skin carpets) and a select club. Here, the wine selection is impressive and the champagne bar well-stocked. Lovers of quality whisky, cognac and rum will also find something to their liking! CAFE RAPP

Music and entertainment bar

This atypical place on the edge of the square attracts as much as it seduces! In summer, you can sit out on the terrace in the first rays of sunshine to savour a few generous, tasty dishes, or take advantage of the unobstructed view, green spaces and flowerbeds to enjoy a quick bite to eat. And in winter, standing at the bar or seated at a table in the dining room, you can delight in the restaurant's eclectic mix of styles. Round, long and high tables mingle with retro furniture in a hushed atmosphere. A few bulky objects make temporary appearances, such as this majestic cable car in the middle of the room. An ideal place to gather for coffee or dinner. The icing on the cake is that Café Rapp offers a Sunday lunchtime brunch, and for that alone, we'd like to say thank you. If the decoration caught our eye, what's on the plate isn't bad at all!

JAF - L'ENTREPOT

Beer bar

The JAF to designate Jason, Arnaud and Florian are the 3 accomplices at the origin of this concept. Brand new and beautiful, this place in the making designates a new kind of concept that oscillates between an afterwork bar, a traditional boutique exclusively dedicated to the sale of beers, wines and spirits, and wild parties. Clearly identified areas with several containers, on the "Warehouse" side for tasting foam or wine from the four corners of the world, with colleagues or friends, and on the "Cellar" side for shopping for nectars, to continue the tastings at home. Go there without delay, the decor and the atmosphere are worth a look, the JAF will make a lot of noise and make people talk about it!

CAFÉ DE LA LAUCH

Coffee shop and tea room

This adorable tea room nestles in a typical alleyway of old Colmar, slightly set back from the Little Venice bridge. It is a timeless place, tastefully furnished on the ground floor of a venerable Alsatian building. Here, one really takes the time to savour a double espresso (1924 - Un Monde de Café) or a delicious tea (Dammann) accompanied by a jam shortbread, a lemon tartlet, a slice of cottage cheese tart or a succulent linzertorte. You can also treat yourself to a good breakfast (pastries, kouglof, fresh bread, butter, jam...) and sit down for lunch to enjoy a quiche lorraine and other small hot dishes. We take the opportunity to admire the many period objects, photos and illustrations that adorn the premises. The whole contributes to create, as we say in Alsatian, a very heimlich atmosphere (like at home) in a frame tinged with very soft straw yellow. The back of the Café de la Lauch, with its bright glass roof, opens onto a charming terrace overlooking the river of the same name.

LA TERRASSE DU MARCHÉ

Bar and caf

We have a real crush on this well-named "Terrasse du Marché" which is nestled in the heart of the Colmar covered market, because its very nice terrace on stilts idyllically overlooks the calm waters of the Lauch in the heart of Little Venice. We sit down in this romantic place to enjoy a peaceful breakfast (without Stéphan Eicher unfortunately) and to taste small typical Alsatian dishes, including excellent flammekueche. All this can be accompanied by a good beer or excellent wines from the region.
