Before taking the boat, you can reach the port of Agios Konstantinos, the closest to the capital to reach the archipelago by bus. Buses connect the landing area every hour from 6am to 9pm. You will just need to plan to get to Lioson Bus Station, located 5 km north of Athens city centre (it is often easier to take a taxi). There are then connections to the Sporades (except Skyros).
