Things to see and do Călărași

The town hall of Călărași can provide you with practical information about the city, its attractions and the surrounding area. The city is ancient and is said to have been named after horsemen whose function was to protect the region from Ottoman and Tatar invaders. During the Soviet era, the city underwent industrial development. Nowadays, the town is twinned with Villefranche-sur-Saône: the love of wine and the French-speaking world unite these two localities.
