The Elephant Festival takes place the day before the annual almsgiving ceremony at the Vat Phou Asa temple in Kiet Ngong village in the Xe Pian National Protected Area. Among the activities of this small event are the traditional elephant parades, typical dances baci in honour of the pachyderms. Not to be confused with the Elephant Festival of Sayabouri Province (ElefantAsia, www.elefantasia.org)
