Read moreThe Porto metro has 6 lines (A to F). Convenient for São Bento station, Avenida dos Aliados, Casa da Musica and crossing the Luis I bridge. It's clean, new and quite pleasant. For stations in the city center, there's a metro every 5 minutes during the day and every 12 minutes from 10pm onwards. For other destinations, allow an average of 15-20 minutes during the day and 30 minutes in the evening. The 6 lines converge at Trindade station in the city center. Line E runs to the airport.

Read moreThis funicular connects the Ribeira at the bottom of the historic centre, near the quays, to the Praça da Batalha, at the very top of the city, near the bridge and the cathedral of Sé. It is a very practical means of transport when you are in a hurry or tired. Above all, it offers a splendid view of the Dom Luis Bridge, the medieval walls of Porto and the different wineries of Vila Nova de Gaia. It was inaugurated in 1891 and renovated a hundred years later, in 1994. To be done at least once for the unique experience and its obvious practicality.
