Protected fort offering guided tours on a 2.5 mile loop with unparalleled views of the bridge and Newport Bay
This protected area is articulated around Fort Adams. Between 1799 and 1953, this fort was an American army post. You can explore it and learn more about its history and role through guided tours of an hour. The park that houses it also deserves to be promoted. This is where the Newport Jazz Festival and Newport Folk Festival take place every year. At sunset, Fort Adams Bay Walk, a 2.5 mile loop at the park boundary, offers unparalleled views of Newport Harbor and Bay.
