Greyhound is the main bus company in the country. It serves all major and mid-size American cities. The buses are modern and rather well equipped, they usually have wifi as well as toilets in the back of the vehicle. It is best to book your trip in advance on the website, to make sure you have a seat at the time of your choice and to save a few dollars. There is at least one daily bus to Providence from Boston South Station. It takes about 1 hour to get there.

Although the city can be easily visited on foot, there are buses and trams that criss-cross the city from Kennedy Plaza, the nerve centre of Providence.
