Mystic is a small port town with 4,200 souls. A gigantic weighbridge, the Mystic River Bridge, is the epicentre of life in this pretty town. The town was also made famous through the film Mystic Pizza, which launched Julia Roberts and Matt Damon. Among the unmissable attractions is the city's aquarium, now one of the most visited museums in the state of Connecticut. Also worth mentioning is the Mystic Seaport Museum, one of the largest maritime museums in the United States. It is here that the Mayflower II, a replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrim Fathers in 1620, was restored between 2016 and 2020, before returning to Plymouth, Massachusetts.
