Museum of New London's maritime history with lighthouse replicas and an exhibit dedicated to the ship La Amistad
This historic building, completed in 1835, has long housed a customs office. Now it is a museum that looks back at the maritime history of the city. Replicas of lighthouses from the region can be seen here. An exhibition is devoted to La Amistad, a ship that was the scene of a slave revolt in 1839. For the anecdote, its entrance door is made from the same wood used for the warship USS Constitution, which is in Boston.
