SAINT JOHNSBURY ATHENAEUM

This impressive library was the work of the wealthy heir Horace Fairbanks who had it built in 1871. The Second Empire style building was designed by a New York architect. In addition to the many books, there is also an art gallery with a collection of paintings by local masters and artists. Don't miss the paintings of the Hudson River School movement, which focuses on landscape and nature.
