Museum housing collections in two historic Exeter buildings: Ladds-Gilman House and the Folsom Tavern
At the origins of the American Nation: the Revolution and the Declaration of Independence. The collections are housed in two historic buildings in Exeter: Ladds-Gilman House, built in 1721 by a merchant who served as treasurer of New Hampshire during the American Revolution, when Exeter became the state capital (and remained so for 14 years); and the Folsom Tavern, built in 1775, which was a hotbed of debate during the Revolution.
