This former historic tavern, which was open before the American Revolution, was converted into a restaurant in the 1940s. If you only have to try one lobster roll during your stay on the north coast of Massachusetts, this is the place to do it, just for the historical side of it! Here, they mainly serve fish and seafood, although you can also order a few meat classics like the burger or the chicken sandwich. A friendly address, where you can eat well.

The Barnacle has no website and is mostly visited by locals... which is always a good sign! Unsurprisingly, this restaurant overlooking the harbour serves mostly seafood. To taste: scallops, grilled lobster served whole, or the smoked haddock fillet. Everything is fresh and well done. Every Wednesday, the Twin Lobster Special allows you to enjoy two lobsters for the price of one. A bargain! Good value for money for this pleasant restaurant, which has a few tables outside.

This restaurant offers seafood with a breathtaking view of Marblehead Harbour. Lovers of shellfish and fish will have plenty to choose from, including sea mussels, squid, roasted haddock and the inevitable lobster roll. We also like artichoke sauce and oysters served individually. For those who are not fish fans, a few American classics (burger, Caesar salad and roast chicken) are still on the menu. The only downside might be the service, which is a bit rushed.
