A great place to immerse yourself in the local artistic culture and discover the Byzantine paintings in Corfu Chora.
It is located in one of the wings of the Royal Palace and displays interesting works by Corfu and Greek artists from the 16th to the 20th century. As early as 1811, a school of fine arts was opened in Corfu. The majority of the painters were students of renowned Cretan artists such as Michael Damaskinos. Outside the museum, the very pleasant garden often houses sculptures by modern artists. A small museum to immerse yourself in the local artistic culture and discover Byzantine or Venetian inspired paintings.
