The church in Corfu is one of the most outstanding architectural examples of the Byzantine era.

They are said to have come to Corfu around 48 AD to teach Christianity to the population. The church is one of the most outstanding architectural examples of the Byzantine period. It was built on top of an ancient temple from the 12th century BC and was partly built with the material of the ancient building. Inside the church you can see the icons of two famous Corfu artists, Emmanouil Bouniali Tzanes and Mikhail Damaskinou.
