PRIEURÉ SAINT-ORTAIRE

The Saint-Ortaire priory, located in the hamlet of Bas-Bézier, has two chapels dating from the 18th and 20th centuries. The building of these monuments recalls the history of this holy evangelizer, who died in 580, known for his miracles. The hermit would have possessed the ability to perform healings. The faithful who went to the chapel would place a stone on the trees surrounding the sanctuary, at the height of the evil or pain to be healed. According to the legend, when the stone fell naturally, the sick person was healed!
