Djanet site to discover dunes and Neolithic rock engravings depicting a crying cow.
At a good twenty kilometers west of Djanet, the erg Admer, although modest in size (100 km long and 20 km wide), is often the first opportunity to indulge in daydreaming by following the gentle curves of the golden or pink sand dunes depending on the time. The most remarkable dune is the one of Tahort, about sixty kilometers from the town. You will also observe rock engravings, in particular those of the cow which cries, at the Eastern limit of the erg Admer, dating from the Neolithic and in low relief.
