QUINZAINE DE L'OCTAVE

Every year, since 1678, Catholic pilgrims have visited the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Luxembourg to venerate the statue of the Virgin. This event lasts two weeks. The opening mass and the Cathedral Night are the highlights of this event. The Octave traditionally ends with a solemn procession during which the statue of the Virgin Mary, dressed in a special habit for the occasion, is carried through the streets of the capital, accompanied by the faithful and representatives of the Grand Ducal family.
