It was at Titelberg (or Tëtelbierg), a 50-hectare area overlooking and to the south of present-day Pétange and Rodange, and Minett Park (Fond-de-Gras), that the Trevirian tribe settled in the 1st century BC. They created a fortified town that was to become the region's most important trading center, as evidenced by the thousands of Celtic coins found in the area. Excavations in certain parts of the site clearly show the remains of both the Celtic town and the Gallo-Roman vicus (town) that succeeded it.
