CAVALCADE DE DIEKIRCH

First appearing in 1870, the Diekirch cavalcade is now the unmissable event in this picturesque town on the banks of the River Sûre. Under the sign of the donkey, the mascot of the city, this event brings together every year several thousand participants, who come to admire the parade of about fifty floats. In addition to the procession through the festive streets, a tombola and a big popular ball are organized. A prize is awarded to the most original participants in the procession, in the categories of floats and pedestrians and music.
