Small white church on the promontory of the village of Cacela Velha, offering a beautiful view of the beach and lagoon below.

This small white church nestled on the promontory of this charming village comes alive especially during the Noites da Moura Encantada festival celebrating the Moorish heritage. It was built in the 12th century but only the small Gothic portal has survived from that period. The other transformations date back to the 16th and 18th centuries and give it a Renaissance influence. From there, you can admire a beautiful view of the beach and the lagoon below.
