KHARTOUM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The country's largest airport is strangely located in the urban area. A rather practical but very interesting feature when it is nearby… It mainly serves Egypt, the Gulf countries and the neighbours of the Horn of Africa. As a result of the flight ban decided by the European Union and applying to most Sudanese airlines, there is no direct link with Europe.
When you leave Khartoum, it's not always easy to get there and it's better to secure your flight terminal. A taxi (the rick-shaws are forbidden in several places) may be necessary if there is an error because the terminals are remote from each other. South of the tracks is the terminal used by international organizations (UN missions, World Food Programme, etc.).
Note that in 2012 a new airport should be put into service kilometres south of the city. The current will likely be affected by domestic flights.
