More than 100 km southeast of Guelmim. The road that leads there first passes through Fask and then crosses the charming oasis of Targamait before crossing the Amezloug pass at an altitude of 772 m. Assa is known in Morocco as the city of 366 marabouts! But Assa also has a treasure within it, its ksar. To reach it, it is signposted from the town centre. Located on a promontory, this ksar is a perfect example of the traditional Saharan habitat. Some parts are in ruins, but others have fortunately remained in perfect condition. The high part of the ksar offers a splendid view on the city and the palm grove of Assa. A souk takes place on Sunday.
