Opened in 1998, Papagayo's reputation is well established. Indeed, the nightclub on the Riu Tikida Beach hotel is known as the city's hippest nightclub, regularly welcoming DJs of varying degrees of fame who know a thing or two about music. Live concerts, gogo dancers, gnawa fusion and tech-house are on the program to attract a young, cosmopolitan clientele and set the dance floor alight. However, you'll need to be patient in the queue, which is likely to be long on summer evenings.
