It begins where the road ends, at Kegaska. Strings of islands and islets dot the coastline (over 400 km), where sand gradually gives way to granite. Some 6,000 inhabitants of diverse origins (Inuit, Innu, Basque, French, English, Jersey, Acadian, Newfoundlander) live in some fifteen villages scattered across these landscapes at the end of the world. At the very end, Blanc-Sablon forms the eastern extremity of the province of Quebec. The road links Vieux-Fort to Blanc-Sablon, from where you can take Route 510 to Labrador, or the ferry across the Strait of Belle Isle to the island of Newfoundland.
