One of France's most beautiful beaches, protected by the Narbonnaise Regional Nature Park

Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in France, the Coussoules beach stretches for 8 km between La Franqui and Port-La Nouvelle. Protected as part of the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Nature Park, the strip of sand is classified Natura 2000. Thanks to this protection and the hard work carried out locally, the beach has retained its wild aesthetic: fields of samphire, no straw huts... It's not uncommon to come across kitesurfers and windsurfers in the area, which is very windy. At the back of the beach is the Etang de La Palme, an ecosystem that is home to many birds in all seasons.
