Artificial lake created in 1824 for the British who wanted to fish in its waters and offering other attractions, including a garden
This artificial lake was created in 1824 by John Sullivan so that the British could fish in its waters. Many tourists flock to the Boat House, run by the Tamil Nadu Tourist Board, to canoe peacefully on its waters in pedal boats, rowboats or motorboats, and contemplate the eucalyptus forests that surround the lake. Other attractions include a garden, shooting galleries, horseback riding, ponies and a train for children. There is a restaurant on site.

Ce lac situé au creux d'une magnifique vallée regroupant plantation de thé et non loin du château de plaisance du maharaja de Mysore est un cadre magnifique. La ville d'Ooty est aussi réputé pour son chocolat et je vous recommande l'achat d'huile essentielle d'Eucalyptus.
